January 2025. How, in the world, did we get here? 

As we settle into the new year, I’m faced with more than a few feelings. Foremost: The excitement, the opportunity, the responsibility of a fresh start. It’s a time to take the lessons and expertise of our past selves and build on them with new possibilities and renewed energy. 

After a holiday break filled with family, food, and just the right amount of nothingness, my goal is to approach everything—both at Mayker and personally—with confidence and excellence. If you’re feeling that motivated January energy too, here are five things inspiring me as we step into the year ahead.

The California fires are nothing short of devastating. Home is such an intensely personal thing, and the thought of losing it so quickly feels almost impossible to grasp. Yet in the midst of such heartbreak, I find myself deeply inspired by the first responders and individuals showing extraordinary bravery and generosity.
